If money is no object, Qualtrics have a lot of bells and whistles whilst making things stupidly easy to do - but, money is often a very real consideration and their prices are, frankly, ridiculous (five thousand bucks for a custom domain and no one can tell you why that price is literally a zero on the end more than some charge, if they do charge) and, there's the non-zero chance they'll try and bypass you to poach your clients, even on co-pitch projects (as has happened directly to me in the past). Web Survey Creator has hands down the best support of any platform you'll use, can't be beaten. Sadly, anything above the basics you're probably going to need to speak to support as you write custom javascript functions at length to accomplish tasks a few clicks will do in other platforms (though, the sheer latitude you have with the platform is another string in it's bow, if you have bespoke research needs, this is the best platform for you, if you have a good programmer). I've never seen the costing for it, but I can't imagine for the drawbacks it's that high. Askia is extensible and capable of some complexity without being too onerous to code, fantastic reporting tool too (you can save yourself those Q licences) - I've not used it for a while (maybe about a decade) so can't really comment on current development, hopefully they've moved away from using renamed Access 2003 .mdb files (.qes iirc) which top out at a 2GB limit which could be problematic on a larger project. Limited AU support though means not ideal for APAC region in the event you have an urgent query (that said, Voxco's AU support is practically non-existent, as they take a day to get back to you, but that response is a "we're going to have to ask Montreal" so you then have another day, to a week, to never hearing back about it). Nebu holds a special place in my heart for being the first platform I fully used (skirting around parts of SurveyCraft before it), I still like the "Everything is ok" when checking a scripts integrity before exiting (not, scripts fine, no errors found, EVERYTHING is ok, so Dutch). Not used this in the better part of two decades though, so would be unfair to comment on their current performance (though, I do recall so, so many bugs). ConfirmIT, or Forsta as they are now, seems alright, barely used it back in the day so can't really say much other than it used to be a little esoteric, but there's been plenty of time for that to change. LimeSurvey is free if you're vaguely technical and can host it yourself, with all that entails and aren't afraid to do a little programming around the edges to tidy it up, though I've only used it for prototyping, not sure I'd be comfortable with that in a live production environment. Limited question types and could do with more in the advanced routing department too, plus the gui makes it unnecessary longer to achieve tasks than is necessary (something Voxco does too). I could go on, there's some honourable mentions not covered (and a few dishonourable too), but the best online survey platform hasn't been written yet, most are coming from legacy platforms and carry a weight of technical debt and old approaches to platforms that could do with being thrown out and started again, but no company large enough to be able to afford to do that would be that risky, the market is primed for a disrupter to come in and deliver a package that's built by people who understand research and researcher needs, can offer a UI that's direct and simple to navigate and achieve your needs whilst being stable and reliable.
