# Using a text only email or more conventional Newsletter looking email

I keep hearing that using lots of pictures and newsletter looking email is best but my most opened emails are that which are text only or mostly. Why is that do you think?

Daniel,

using lots of pictures can not always be a good idea as there is a thin line between lots and too many. Too many may impact your deliverability and open rates.

It also depends on the audience you are sending your newsletter to - some may prefer very minimalistic looking newsletters and some may like flashier ones. One of the best ways to find out is to test and see what your audience likes the most.

Thank you!
