# The power of remote work

 I read this interesting article that said Airbnb saw its most productive 2 year period in company history when it announced that employees could work from anywhere. This is an interesting argument about the power of flexibility and remote work.     What do you think?

&lt;p&gt;I am so happy my company was remote-first 10 years ago, so when I joined in 2021 it was expected I would mostly work from home. I love the flexibility of being able to spend time with kids and pick them up from school, etc., and I find I am much more productive when I&#39;m in my own environment. I spend much less time on breaks/lunches because everything is within arm&#39;s reach.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There are obviously aspects that I find are much better in person, and video calls can be draining and annoying, but for my actual solo work, remote is amazing.&lt;/p&gt;

Good point Matt ✅  Having been in &quot;tech&quot; for as long as I can remember, &quot;remote&quot; came easy since it was part of &quot;what we did&quot; (had in product portfolio). The echo the benefits of flexibility you mention and I am much more productive as well being in my own environment. Best, Mark

&lt;p&gt;This is definitely debatable topic. Some of them are very happy with remote work and some are not. It completely depends on industry to industry. Working remotely has its own perks and drawbacks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For any industry that needs customer support, catalogue management, coding, development, content writing, these are few fields to mention that will do well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Remote working/ hybrid working environment does gives a balanced work life environment option, but at times remote working can lead to a lack of face-to-face social interaction with colleagues, which can result in feelings of isolation or loneliness. It may also hinder team collaboration and communication, making it challenging to build strong relationships...&lt;/p&gt;
