# SVG Support

Will native SVG support be available soon?

Gimp is a bitmap (Raster) editor, so real SVG support is unlikely be available. You can open SVG files in GIMP and you can see the routes, but it is not the same as a vector editor program. You can also save SVG files from Gimp created files.  here is a video where you can see how to convert an image into SVG using GIMP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPGvrxjT7aY
