For new purchases, first year's maintenance is included in the purchase price. Thereafter, the cost of maintenance depends on the type of license which was purchased. 

Maintenance includes:
-Free upgrades to new versions
-Training discounts
-Priority notifications on upcoming events
-Access to the Beta program
-Technical support

A full license of Surfer costs $849US. Licenses are perpetual and have no ongoing maintenance and support fees. All maintenance updates are provided free of charge. 

Upon the release of a new version which includes new features and improvements, users can upgrade from any previous version of Surfer with an eligible serial number for $279.
