# Storing and Sharing web resources in google drive

I am used to using tools that allowed you to store web resources (URLs) just like they were any old file and share them accordingly with my team.

I'm really missing this functionality and have resorted to just storing links in google docs, has anybody found a decent alternative to this?

Microsoft makes some good and some trashy products.

OneDrive is one of the good ones. Just right click on a file, click share, enter email id's in the subscreen and click create a shareable URL. And voila, it works. Instead of shareable URL, you can directly send them this file too.

I work for a consulting firm, and it really helps me share a lot of heavy documents without having to wait for them to send. And best of all - all security remains in my control.

Almost all programs that share files on the web have that option, I recommend PlusTransfer, unlike the competition is that this is you who decides when the download link expires. This makes it possible to have any document stored on your server for quite some time.

There are several programs that will allow you almost the same functionalities, among them I recommend Dropbox, you have to take some time while you adapt to review all the funcinalities it brings you, however when you have the necessary knowledge, you will get much benefit.

Save the webpage to your computer as normal then go to new- upload new file and browse your computer to add it to your drive. Not sure if this will serve your purpose

As the "super admin" for a ~200 user company on GSuite, we use Google Drive to publish lists of links in a few ways. Perhaps the simplest for your purpose as I understand it would be to make a google sheets file with a table containing the links and the friendly description then make a column with a formula that combines the two into an URL using the HYPERLINK function like this: HYPERLINK(A2,B2)...then hide the variable columns and publish the sheet or else make the HYPERLINK formula in a separate sheet and publish that sheet as a (public or login required) web page that you could embed in a google sites or other content manager. Does that make sense? If you are interested I can post a link to public example pretty easily.

What about Evernote and its ilk, like DevonThink? They capture pretty much everything.

I would recommend you use Google URL Shortener but their services are discontinued. I highly recommend using DropBox, Google Keep for Chrome Extension, Adding Links to Reading List for MacOS, and/or Saving links to your Notepad while adding it to your Documents on Google Drive.

You can do so many things with DropBox. You set up your company or team, then you can each have a folder or just 1 for the team. You add any and everything you could possibly need for your business. You can add and share Powerpoints, add URLs, add a picture from the web, anything!! It's amazing!! TRY IT!

I have gotten into the habit of utilizing Google Keep. It allows for the sharing and snipping of websites on a shared page. I also use it for progress checklists and part/materials lists to share with my groups

If you go to a website, right click, select print. Change the destination to "save to googe drive". this will save the website as a PDF in your google drive. Hope this helps.

Depending on what you need the links for and how you need them organized, I have found Buzzstream very effective for keeping groups of links together.
