# Just saw the Grid report and quadrant G2 produced and I am kind of surprised that Dynamics is the one contender for Salesforce.com.

Would you agree to that? Why?

I would suggest Workbooks is also a strong contender and many, many Salesforce customers have already moved to Workbooks.  A flow of customers have chosen Workbooks over Salesforce and MS Dynamics as can be seen here http://www.workbooks.com/about/press-releases

As you can see on the G2 grid we are a smaller firm than these two, but offer a strong CRM service with a more personal customer service and with a lower price tag.

The only thing I can think is because Dynamics has been bundled free for a couple of years and more people don't know about other solutions? for free who could complain? I always thought Dynamics reporting was better than Salesforce's mainly because you have the benefit of MSSQL analytics etc but after talking to a dynamics partner recently he says if you want to do anything half decent you need to start fiddling around with XML files and he was jumping ship to Salesforce...

I know we have been looking at Dynamics to replace Salesforce.  Depending on the size of your company, Dynamics may be enough to do what you want.  I was also heartened to see Dynamics with a strong showing in the G2 Grid report...it seems to confirm our view as a company.

Because Siebel was closer last year mostly and it's definitely more hardcore. Dynamics is not such a full solution as SFDC on the other hand, though I guess it's cheaper, a typical MS strategy.
