# Popl on your phone: does it actually stop you from forgetting business cards?

I like that Popl is on your phone, so it helps when you are forgetful and might forget to bring cards. At the same time, it is still another app, and that can make it easy to forget about using it. For those using digital business cards, what helps you remember to actually open the app and share your info when it matters?

For me, the biggest win is not having to physically carry business cards at all. Since it lives on my phone, I can share my info anytime without worrying about cards getting dirty or crinkled in my bag or pocket. It’s been an immediate fix for that problem, and so far I haven’t run into anything I dislike.

I’ve liked how simple it is to pull up on my phone, so I’m not carrying business cards anymore. The downside for me is the cost, and I’ve noticed people sometimes bail when they’re prompted to sign up before saving my info. When it does work, it’s great that they can jump straight to my social media, which is what I need most for my business.

One thing that keeps me using it is how easy it is to transfer all my info to someone else, so I don’t hesitate in the moment. I also like having my business card always available digitally, which means I’m not carrying paper cards around. My main annoyance is needing an account just to save other people’s information.

What helps me actually use it in the moment is setting up multiple profiles and switching based on the event. I’ll flip from a “business mode” profile (LinkedIn and company site) to a more “social mode” one so each tap feels relevant to who I’m meeting. The quick tap sending my profile and contact file straight to their phone has made post-event follow-up noticeably better. My only frustration is that some of the most useful business features like CRM integrations and lead capture are stuck behind the premium tier.

It’s been super helpful for me to have a mobile business card on hand so I can share my contact info smoothly with members and people I meet professionally. The biggest win is not running out of physical cards, and when I share my Popl card people don’t lose my info like they often do with paper cards. Only thing I’d change is having a cheaper pro option or upgraded features.

For me it really does help because I always forgot business cards at networking or client events, but having Popl in my wallet means I still have something to share. I lean on the Apple Wallet QR code since people can just scan it. The only downside I hit is that the card sharing sometimes works best if the other person also has a Popl account.
