Because when upstream and downstream procurement processes are disconnected, companies and procurement organizations often:
• Are unable to enforce buying policies and contracts which can lead to maverick spending
• Lack basic compliance and the ability to enforce contracts and realize contracted savings
• Are inconsistent in managing the supplier onboarding processes and supplier risk
• Lack supplier visibility which leads to uninformed purchase and business decisions
