# What are the advantages of using Node.js? Why should I use DominoDB and not MongoDB?

For many organizations, Node.js has become the application development framework of choice for web, front, and backend development. Companies such as Netflix, LinkedIn, PayPal, Uber, Walmart, and NASA have standardized around Node.js to exploit Node.js’ fast, scalable, and real-time applications.

Domino provides a number of advantages over MongoDB when used with a full web stack that includes Node.js:  
•	Granular and integrated security with the database down to the field level  
•	Robust, sophisticated replication and offline support
•	Proven to scale and low maintenance overhead
•	Integrated full text Search engine
•	Included database clustering and failover
•	Rapid and upgrades in place on a clustered environment 
The biggest reason for using Domino instead of MongoDB or any other NoSQL base is that Domino provides a complete solution development and deployment environment; database, directory, security, offline and native client support — including out-of-the-box capabilities such as database clustering and failover that don’t require specialized configuration or third-party applications.
