As I recently moved to a rural farming area, and the nearest city is about 25 minutes away, I have been actively looking at zoom groups, slack channels, and such to keep me connected with fellow marketing folks. If anyone has any suggested groups for me to join, please list them! I would love to check them out.

Hi Brain, you can join facebook groups relevant for your need. This is best way of networking. Will share more if I come across.

I am in a few Marketing Groups and I go to Marketing/CRM related conferences whenever I can. It's a good way to meet people and see what trends are affecting everyone.

That's great Alex! Do you prefer meeting up locally in person? Or connecting virtually via Zoom/WebEx, etc.?

I still attend various local events and groups to connect and collab. Somethings have no replacement.

Hi Stephanie,

What I see out there to meet and network (with professionals in my industry):

Virtual conferences or webinars

Online groups or forums

Social Media

What I do and or use (to meet, network and build new connections / relationships):

Ask for replay of webinars:

Due to time zone differences

Participate in online communities:

The G2 Icon Community, obviously.

Just a few others (3 at max).

Volunteer or participate in (online group) projects:

Beta-test (new) software.

Social media:

LinkedIn (very carefully).

Nothing that is related to Meta (Facebook, Instagram etc).

No Twitter either.

Note:

I might have accounts on the above mentioned platforms. Each are not actively used and most importantly accessed in their own, for the occasion setup, environment.

All the above only after having done my due diligence on the:

Company (companies) fine print

T&C, Privacy Statement and or Privacy Policy, Cookie Statement and or Cookie Policy, Security Statement and or Security Policy and GDPR compliancy.

Platform and or software used

Known issues with performance etc, and not attended to is a No go

If time and location allows for offline events, I might attend.

Best,

Mark
