# Can we control how many rows a user can access or modify SQL before it gets to the database?

To be clear, Exago does not support writing back to databases, and will only perform read operations in the context of a report execution.

With that in mind, Exago can impose database row limits to ensure queries are performant. 

Exago can also leverage incremental loading, which will impose limits on how many records are processed for output while holding onto the remaining records from the database in memory. Once the user clicks to retrieve more records, Exago will get the next X records (or the remaining records if the user makes this selection).
