join.me (which is actually part of the same parent company family as GoTo Meeting) is a lightweight, web-based tool used for quick online meetings, screen sharing, and video conferencing.  
​While GoTo Meeting is built for heavy-duty corporate syncs, join.me was designed to be a faster, simpler alternative. Here is what people typically use it for:
​Instant Screen Sharing: You can broadcast your desktop, a specific application, or a presentation to anyone instantly without them needing to create an account.  
​Ad-Hoc Demos & Pitches: Sales and support teams love it for spontaneous client walkthroughs because attendees can join instantly just by typing a simple 9-digit code or hitting a custom personal link (like join.me/yourname).  
​Quick Team Collaboration: It features audio/video conferencing (using unique "video bubbles" for participants), basic in-meeting text chat, and a digital whiteboard for brainstorming on mobile devices.
