# Is there an API to directly report outages to Freshping?

I am trying to make my application(s) contact Freshping at a fixed interval and when they stop contacting Freshping to have that detected as an outage.

We do not have an option of API reaching out to freshping as of now. We will take this as a feature request and see if we can accommodate the same in future releases.

I would suggest approaching in a different way. Create a page in your app, and have freshping monitor it. I don't know what technology you use, but put up a page that that your app can ping as a sort of keep-alive and when the page is recycled by the server, it will reset a flag.
