# Is there a way to see my messenger messages with downloading messenger?

Messenger takes up a lot of space on my phone, even the lite version. So, I was curious if there's a way to check messages without having it installed.

Go to facebook.com on a computer or mobile browser.

Log into your account.

Click the Messenger icon (top right on desktop, or in the menu on mobile).

You can read and reply to messages right there.

👉 Note: On mobile browsers, Facebook sometimes tries to push you to download the Messenger app but you can usually tap “Continue in browser” or “Not now” to stay on the web version.
