# Is there a way to "highlight" or bookmark a message in slack so that it is easy to come back to?

One of the best parts of slack is that we are able to search through our history. However, we don't always remember which thread a question is in or who sent it or the keywords. Is there a way to bookmark a message so it is easier to come back to?

Hover over message and click the star image on the pop up that appears on the right side of the message line. Then, locate starred items by click the "Show Starred Items" icon on the top right side of the window (or use shortcut key stroke "Ctrl+Shift+S")

You can "pin" a conversation by clicking the "More Actions" button on a specific message. After pinning it, the conversation will be visible in the conversation details.

You can use the "Star Message" feature. Hover over the message and a pop up menu should show up. To view, there's a Star you can click on.
