# Is there a way to have a 3D sculpt that has been converted to an image file?

This is a frustrating issue that can be avoided but cost me thirty minutes trying to remedy when it first happened. I ended up having to start over.

Hey Shariece,

Thanks for the question.

I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out what your question is asking, I'm going to assume this is the issue: Sometimes when working in Zbrush, you can "drop" the 3D sculpt into the canvas, this basically makes it look like the sculpt is now a 2D picture, that you can not edit. One way around this is to press Ctrl+N to clear the canvas, then make sure you are in edit mode (press T or the edit button). You can also redraw out the 3D object onto the canvas by clicking and dragging onto the canvas. There is also a button in the tool Palette called: Make polymesh3D, which should help as well.
