It is very inexpensive and worth its weight in gold, there may be a free trial, but this product is worth supporting!

THERE IS NO FREE VERSION OF SNAGIT. not less its been pirated hopefully safeguards are in place to prevent this,you can download a free trial version to test drive it . I have not seen  a program that compares to the Snagit  I have tried other software and nothing compares to Snagit its library of tools to capture and edit,create backgrounds green screen etc great software that gets better all the time

No.  There is a trial version (I do not recall how long the trial is).

I dont know, but if you have Windows 11 you might  have an app that will do the "snagging" part. It is called "snipping tool", but snipping is all it does, I think, so  you are still on your own to edit or clean up the image.
