Nothing is free in this world. How ever if you buy 3 years license , vendor provide hardware free based on promo if applicable in specific regions.

XG can be free if there is any promotions run by Sophos but you will have to pay for the licenses. I had received HW free last time when i bought.

They do have a home edition that is free for non commerical use.  Excellent for learning and to get a fully featured firewall for home.
