# Is PhpMyAdmin a good product for SQL newcomer?

I'm new to SQL, but am learning it for a work project. Would this be a good product to try? I'm considering PhpMyAdmin and MySQL.

As many questions the answer is: it depends.
To work on a remote project is actually a good option, because it's the most common db web interface you can find on any remote server; thus, good or not, if in your future there is web development you should learn how to use it.
For a newcomer in SQL (I assume you started from documentation like a book, ...) phpmyadmin is not that good as you must understand how mysql works, and a bit of sql syntax; moreover it takes a bit to learn the instrument itself. For easily managing dd you can use heidisql or dbbeaver.

PhpMyAdmin is a very usable web based Database GUI for MySQL and is recommended. But I would try other tools to learn SQL. There is too little support for newbies to set up queries and to experiment with the SQL syntax.

It is OK if you know SQL already.
