# Is Kami only for annotating PDFs?

You can open and annotate any document type in Kami. You can even create a blank document in Kami, or add blank pages into your existing document. Documents, together with the annotations and comments you have added, are always stored in PDF format in order to retain all this information and allow you to view it again or to share it.
