It is a web host and does similar things, but we are considering Shopify because they are set up to help us little guys with the sales tax onus. 
They seem to have a lot packed into their program for a little better price.

No idea. I have never used shopify. What I do know is Big Commerce works. They are also making changes and upgrading the software.

I have seen many little things that could be better and coincidentally, from time to time, they are changed and work better than before. I guess they listen to their customers.
