here the responsibility is solely on the human, concerning how he uses it. asking of ai’s opinion first without even analzing the situation will surely depreciate the critical thinking of human. on the other hand, providing our own analysis for a second opinion and then engaging with ai to have a dialectical conversation and challenging it, increases our critical thinking

Well, I mostly believe so, yes. Even recent studies have shown that using and relying on AI more can cause something called “cognitive atrophy.” So, the speculation around AI usage and its effects on our brains is true to a large extent. But as far as knowledge is concerned, with AI, knowledge consumption and growth have definitely increased. Accessibility to vast knowledge has become easier, and also learning any concepts too with AI is lot more simpler and detailed than earlier days.

Yes, I believe it is, but I also think it's helping expand our knowledge. ChatGPT should come up with a critical thinking quiz that users can take daily to improve their critical thinking.

AI does not replace human critical thinking—it can actually strengthen it when used intentionally.

When approached as a thought partner, AI prompts users to reflect, question, and refine ideas rather than simply accept them. It creates an opportunity to evaluate: Would I use this? Should I modify it? Is it appropriate for my audience?

Human judgment remains essential. We still have to verify accuracy, identify missing context, and ensure clarity. AI can make assumptions and occasionally produce incorrect or misleading information, which reinforces—not replaces—the need for critical evaluation.

Used well, AI doesn’t do the thinking for us; it challenges us to think more deeply. It can expand perspectives, surface possibilities, and support leadership decision-making—but the responsibility for discernment, interpretation, and final decisions remains firmly human.

In short, AI is not a substitute for critical thinking—it’s a tool that, when used thoughtfully, can enhance it.

Yes, as long as the user is not evaluating and sutdying the output, AI is weaking the critical thinking.
