No, you can’t use the full commercial version of 1C:Enterprise for free. There’s a free training edition, but that’s just for practice — it doesn’t work for real business accounting or production jobs.

Here’s the gist:

First, the free training version is meant for learning, development, and debugging. It’s got some big restrictions for business: you can’t do real accounting, you’re limited to about 2,000 records in main tables, there’s no client-server setup, just one user at a time, and you can’t print directly from user mode. It’s fine for testing things out, but useless for real-world operations.

Now, for the commercial version, you’ll need to pay. The licensing splits into platform licenses and licenses for specific applications (like "1C:Accounting"). You can either buy it outright and run it on your own servers, or subscribe to a cloud version with monthly or yearly fees while the provider handles everything. Pricing isn’t set in stone — it depends on how many users you need, which configurations you pick, your licensing model, and even where you’re located.

Licenses usually get tied to a specific computer or a USB HASP key with PIN codes. If you’re a developer, you also need your own account on the 1C developer portal.

So, if you need 1C:Enterprise for real business work, get ready to pay. The free version is only for messing around and learning the ropes.
