Yes: on May 4th, we released KrakenD 2.0 ( https://www.krakend.io/blog/krakend-2.0-release-notes/ ) including, among other things, a new type of plugins (request/response modifiers) and expanding our documentation on it.

Precisely in the documentation about the new plugins ( https://www.krakend.io/docs/extending/plugin-modifiers/ ), you will find a complete step-by-step example, including the plugin code and the steps to follow to compile it and invoke it from the KrakenD configuration. I hope you'll find those helpful! 

It's an ongoing process: we continue to work on improving KrakenD's ease of use and extensibility in future releases, thanks to your feedback.
