# Hub Spot vs Pardot

I'm very interested in Hub Spot but comparing them to Pardot. Anyone know an pro's or con's only applicable to one or the other? They seem very similar with Hub Spot potentially having more inbound marketing tools vs just standards marketing automation. Is that accurate? Not sure how the SalesForce acquisition of Pardot comes into play, if at all. Any comments appreciated.

I think HubSpot is the front runner on the inbound marketing. If I am not mistaken, they actually coined the "inbound marketing" term. One huge advantage of HubSpot is the support and training they give you during the switch. Depending on the size of your business, BASIC may be enough. Once you get in the PRO version, you are spending good money but comparing to hiring in-house help to put up pages and/or manage blogs, workflows, etc. - it's a bargain. Either way, the system actually guides you through optimizing your pages - and you don't even need to know any HTML, CSS, etc. (it is helpful if you do, but not necessary).

One thing to watch out for is the number of contacts - if HubSpot manages lots of contacts, it will be less expensive to go with either PRO or ENTERPRISE version - make sure you do your math first. Going over the limit will change the pricing at the annual renewal.

Regarding SalesForce - that is your cloud based CRM. So HubSpot is your website content management tool and SalesForce is your customer relationship management solutioin. The HubSpot and SalesForce integrate pretty seamlessly - so (as an example) the contacts generated by your website are updated to your CRM in (almost) real time.

If your company is relatively small or your current CRM is not too customized/large, you could save money by using SugarCRM or ZohoCRM. Both will also integrate with HubSpot but you will need to do more IT work yourself or hire someone to help you make it work. Also, neither Sugar or Zoho will give you the functionality and stability of SalesForce (this is according to a bunch of reviews I read).
I am not sure about Zoho but both SalesForce and Sugar let you test them out for free so I would do that before making a decision and see what works for you.

Good luck with your conversion -

We haven't tried any other. We chose the industry leaders HubSpot and haven't looked back. The platform is continually evolving, support second to none and the CRM and marketing platform combined is a powerful combination. Interface is intuitive, integrations wide, and the marketing automation, analytics and reporting offers exactly what we need for customer retention.

i definitely support the choice of going with HubSpot. I've been with them for the last 2 years, and have been using online marketing tools for the last 7 years. Best decision I've made.

Instead of running down the differences, here is a comparison chart for you:
http://www.michaelhartzell.com/hubspot-comparison-chart/

As you will see from the comparison chart, it is difficult to compare because each platform/tool has its own strengths.

I prefer to have everything under one umbrella. Saves many hours of time each month and all of the pieces are integrated. I used to have about 30 different tools all flopped together with work-arounds.

So the answer comes down to: "What is your goal/strategy?" Then choose the best tool.

Pardot is a great sales tool, but if you are looking to dive all-in to inbound marketing Hubspot is the best choice. Hubspot's new sales tool linked with their Marketing automation is a combo that is tough to beat.

We have been using HubSpot for about 2 years now. The functionality offered by HubSpot to support our marketing, sales & CRM processes more than meets our requirements. We have not had a reason so far to consider alternative solutions like Pardot.

One of the reasons I simply ADORE HubSpot is because it offers so many different tools within one simple, integrated user interface. We continue to try new aspects of the system and apply HubSpot's solutions to different issues within our organization. Recently we began using the CRM, which has been an incredible experience because of the immense flexibility and incredible support from our representative. I have not used Pardot or SalesForce, but have heard from other users that SalesForce is huge, disconnected and complicated--especially for a smaller business (we have 530 employees and a Marketing team of 6). HubSpot meets all of our needs and continues to exceed our expectations, and their team is constantly innovating.

I agree with other posters. From a marketing automation and inbound marketing standpoint, HubSpot and the staff that work there are second to none.

If looking to keep your products under one company's umbrella (SFDC), Pardot might make more sense. We use HubSpot and SFDC, and the integration as worked well for us.

I have evaluated and used both tools (along with evaluations of other solutions). Every time we evaluate the tools the result is generally the same. That being, "All tools are equally powerful".

One interesting comment I can share about my experience with the tools and the evaluation of them (Pardot and HubSpot Specifically) is that one of the founders of Pardot also agreed with me. The tools are equally powerful when compared side-by-side, it's just about how you wish to run your marketing and sales teams.

I always tell people to consider the type of organization they wish to become. IF you're looking to build an inbound strategy (which I personally recommend) then HubSpot is without a doubt the best product. IF you're looking to quickly and efficiently build a marketing + sales alignment strategy, Pardot has a lot of great functionality for Salesforce users and sales team members to see the power of marketing.

With that said, Pardot is running into a lot of competition with HubSpot Sales products. You can now enable your sales team in many of the same ways Pardot was once doing.

In the end, it's up to you. I use HubSpot, but I'll always evaluate the tools for the team I'm on... if another prevails, we'll use that one!

We've been using HubSpot for over 4 years and have experienced great growth, every year. The tools are completely integrated with detailed reporting. Marketing data is integrated with sales data, making revenue attribution simple. Marketing creates demand with blogs, content, and campaigns. Sales can track the progress of each new contact through the sales funnel. The platform is fully customizable for our needs.
