# how to install jira

Can somebody help me figure out how best to install jira on my mac

If you're considering Jira on premise then there is some work to be done regarding installation. However, on premise usually only makes sense for larger companies (in my humble opinion).

That being said, I would suggest trying Jira Cloud. The cost of installing is virtually zero, you only have to sign up. You get a short free trial followed buy a $10 USD monthly fee for up to 10 team members. This works greats for smaller companies and allows you to try things out before committing your budget and time to a full migration.

Additionally, cloud products have great benefits like being readily available no matter where you are and are constantly being updated both for feature and security updates.
