# how to draw in microsoft word

Is there a way to draw?

Don’t; this feature is hopelessly clunky, almost useless. Use the free version of Paint, save your drawing as a png or jpeg (Paint offers both options, and more), and import your artwork into Word via “insert a picture.”  You’ll be much happier.

If you have a stylus and a touchscreen laptop you can use the Insert&gt;Shape&gt;Scribble feature. It is not as responsive as I think it should be but if you need something quick you can use this. I have also used the Curve option in the Shapes to use my mouse in a pinch for quick drawings.
