# How to avoid updates that is not necessary? Is there a way to check it?

Recently I have an issue after updating my Windows 10 on specific features (I am not sure what is being updated since, by default, the updates are set to automatic updates), which caused my microphone to work correctly. So, how do I identify if the updates will impact specific hardware on my machine? Is there a more straightforward way to identify without reading very long descriptions of the details about the updates? I believe there is a shorter way to do this.

Every security and feature update will be download automatically, but optionals updates will not be download if the user disable the automatic updates
