Quark has come down in price dramatically the last few years. They have a number of interesting plans that make sense for various size of users, from individuals to small companies to large organizations. The best part is, even though it' through a subscription plan, once you buy Quark it's yours to keep and use whether or not you choose to upgrade it. Quark realized a while back that they were competing with the Adobe people who were selling their version of desktop publishing for a lower cost. Quark met the challenge and all of us who buy it are better off for it because it's less expensive and still a superior product.
