# How low can latency go with Wowza for live streaming?

I'm evaluating live streaming platforms and need the lowest possible latency for real-time, interactive video. How low can Wowza actually get, and which protocol (WebRTC, SRT, or Low-Latency HLS) is best for use cases like sports betting, live auctions, or remote camera monitoring? Trying to understand the real latency vs. scale tradeoff before we commit.

Wowza can stream with sub-500ms (under half a second) latency. It uses WebRTC for real-time, interactive use cases like live auctions, sports betting, and remote camera control, plus Low-Latency HLS and DASH at 2 to 3 seconds and SRT at about 1 second for delivery at scale across Wowza Video and Wowza Streaming Engine.
