# How is Wing licensed?

Wing licenses are per-user licenses that may be used on as many machines as you need.  The license is activated on each machine the first time you run Wing there.  This may be done by connecting Wing directly to wingware.com or through an offline activation method using your phone or other device to perform the activation.  No license is need on remote hosts; only on machines where the IDE is running.
