# How far in advance should you set up your silent auction platform?

Waiting until two weeks before the event is one of the most common mistakes. Item entry alone takes longer than most people expect. Add in guest communication, mobile bidding setup, and sponsor recognition and you're looking at a real project.

Most experienced event chairs start 6 to 8 weeks out. Some go longer for larger events.

What's worked for your team? When do you typically go live?

We recommend 6 to 8 weeks minimum for most events. At HelloFund our onboarding team works with clients from day one to build a realistic setup timeline. Item entry, guest communication, and bidding configuration all take longer than expected. The teams that start early have a noticeably smoother event night.
