# How does OneSite Patch deliver patches without impacting network bandwidth?

It uses Adaptiva's proprietary peer-to-peer (P2P) system to optimize bandwidth usage and accelerate delivery across distributed networks. OneSite Patch utilized exclusively developed protocols for both WAN distribution that intelligently harvests unused bandwidth of networks (Predictive Bandwidth Harvesting) and accelerates the deployment in LAN environments using its Memory Pipeline Architecture. Content is sourced from the same subnet, LAN, parent location or can fallback to Adaptiva’s Content Delivery Network (CDN). Content Prestaging further reduces bandwidth impact by downloading patch content to devices ahead of scheduled deployment windows, so the network transfer occurs before the maintenance window rather than concurrently with deployment.
