# How does FinancialForce Compare to OpenAir?

We are users of OpenAir and have a love/hate relationship with it.

The user interface, although improved, is still clunky. The reporting is challenging, although we can extract the information we need the number of clicks required to get the data we need coupled with the user experience to sort / filter / etc. makes it cumbersome to do reporting.

The resource management capabilities are pretty good, however, the limited views available and the lag in the user interface makes it difficult to optimize resources across the multiple projects and practices.

How does FinancialForce compare?

I've heard the current integration from OpenAir to SalesForce is more flexible, offers more automation and control and actually easier to setup than the FinancialForce integration to SalesForce. I was led to believe FF was a SFDC company and that is was on the same database. Apparently not - aside from some investment from SFDC (one of literally hundreds of companies getting SFDC funding), these are separate systems and DO require integration, which isn't as easy as you might think.

Can't say I used OpenAir specifically, as we migrated from QuickArrow (which was replaced by OpenAir) to FinancialForce. But if you are already on the Salesforce platform, I would recommend FinancialForce ... it integrates nicely, and the interface is consistent with the Salesforce look and feel.
