# How does Bitrix24 work best?

Bitrix does not run on desktop, only Bitrix24 Desktop, which is a messenger and connects to Bitrix24 Server, installed on Linux. 
Depending on the number of users and expertise of the company, Bitrix24 on-premise provides more flexibility to the company and the source code of the product.  It can be installed on a virtual environment (VM, Oracle virtualbxo etc.), which is not a difficult installation. I would stay away from Bitrix24 - 12 user, as this version is not staple. Only the Business version Bitrix 24 Business 50 Users is stable enough to use for production.  There is a learning curve to administer and configure the application. Documentations are not always up to date. 
Bitrix Support is not great. It is based on a messaging application, which is a terrible way to offer support to customers, especially for support to different time zones.
