I have a telemedicine practice and I use it in a multitude of ways for documentation of medical exams as well as emailing for my business. It saves me so much time and ensure appropriate documentation on a much more consistent basis.

I think how you use it is the same irrespective of the platform. The only exception might be the Chrome extension which would limit its use to browser based activities. I would urge you to check out the Text Expander Learning Center to get more specific tips on how to make the best use of the tool.
