# How do you see the future of Slack appealing to smaller startups?

I worry that some startups will not be able to afford slack.

Slack is perfect for small startups the biggest reason being that it costs nothing to get started!

Learning to use slack early on is terrific in that you will work through the sort of channels you need to develop as well as creating a history of knowledge for onboarding.

As you grow you can asses your needs and purchase the more premium features as you need them.
