# How do you keep Visual Studio Code stable when it bugs out on your hardware?

I use Visual Studio Code as my main IDE for statistical analysis in a local environment, and I like being able to add extensions and other third party plugins. It also helps me work across several programming languages and collaborate with other users while implementing different tools and technologies. My main issue is that it sometimes bugs out, which feels tied to hardware. What steps have helped you troubleshoot stability issues while still using lots of extensions?
