# How do you keep Figma fast and manageable with large design systems and complex files?

Figma’s real-time collaboration and quick iteration (components, variants, auto layout) make it easier to align design, product, and engineering in one shared workspace. But as design systems and files scale, performance can slow down, and some prototype behavior still needs extra alignment with engineering outside the tool. What practices have helped your team keep large libraries and heavy prototypes organized and performant while maintaining smooth handoff?
