# How do you handle the data creation problem?

Basically how do you get all of your legacy data into 3D models from old 2D drawings? I don't mean technically, i mean creating the shear amount of data that has to be created. I have millions of 2D files that we are slowly moving to 3D, but I need a better process to speed this up and get over the hump. I am trying my best to gain the adoption, but with out all of that content it is very difficult.

Honestly, summer interns or outsourcing is probably the best answer. It is a painful process for sure.

You basically need to create each model from scratch in Inventor. You can copy your AutoCAD in Inventor and extrude the models but the models won't be parametric. I highly recommend speaking to your Autodesk consultant.
