# How do you handle outdated tech stacks in Codility core tasks for engineering screening?

Codility’s core tasks have been helpful for cross-checking candidates’ engineering skills and streamlining early-stage technical evaluation with automated, real-world code assessments. The standardized environment and automated scoring also helped reduce bias and cut down time spent on manual screening and preliminary interviews. One challenge is that not every updated version of a stack is available in the core tasks. How are you working around stack version gaps while keeping assessments realistic and fair?
