# How do you get past the learning curve in QuickBooks Online Advanced for construction workflows?

QuickBooks Online Advanced has been helpful for keeping estimates, invoices, payments, expenses, and overall business activity organized in one place, especially when managing multiple projects and job-related costs. The biggest challenge is the learning curve, plus reports and job-costing tools can feel hard to customize without extra help. If you use it for a construction business, what setup steps, workflows, or report templates made it easier to stay on top of billing, payments, and cash flow?

The best way to get past the learning curve in QuickBooks Online Advanced for construction workflows is to start with the basics first and build from there. For me, the most important areas are estimates, invoices, payments, expenses, customers, vendors, and project/job tracking.

Instead of trying to learn every feature at once, I focus on setting up the system around how the business actually operates. Once the daily workflow is organized, reports and job-cost tracking become easier to understand. It also helps to keep records updated consistently so the system becomes more useful over time instead of falling behind.
