# How do you calculate the true cost of fundraising software?

The subscription price is just the starting point. Here's what people often forget to factor in:

Percentage of bids collected by the platform. Payment processing fees. Setup or onboarding costs. Staff time spent learning a new tool. The cost of poor support on event night.

When you add it all up, the "affordable" option isn't always what it looks like on the pricing page.

How does your organization evaluate total cost when choosing a platform?

We talk to event chairs about this constantly. The advertised price is rarely the full picture. At HelloFund we're upfront about everything: flat fee, transparent payment processing, no surprise charges. When prospects compare us to percentage based platforms we encourage them to model out their actual expected raise. The numbers usually speak for themselves.
