# How do o save a Microsoft Teams meeting transcript?

I want to save the past video meetings for record keeping. Please assist.

Okay, so if you're wondering how to save a transcript of a Microsoft Teams meeting, it's actually pretty simple. First, make sure you have permission to do so as transcripts often contain confidential information. Then, during the call, click the "More actions" button (it looks like three dots) and select "Start Recording." Once your meeting is over and you stop the recording, a transcription will automatically be generated and saved within the chat. To access it later, simply go back to the chat where the recording was saved and click on the ellipsis again. This time choose "Open in Microsoft Stream," where you can replay your recording or even edit portions of it. And voila - that's all there is to it! Just be sure to respect any privacy restrictions that may apply when storing sensitive data like this.
