It depends a lot on type of work You want to track by using TMetric. We are a software development company and do most of our work on computers, therefore being able to fully embrace all of the TMetric tracking possibilities.

I found the most effective way of using it by installing clients on our Windows machines, as well as on our Android smartphones.  They monitor the open programs and documents, as well as user's activity and therefore help a lot with accurate time tracking.

Also, it is best to keep Your workspace settings up to date. Clients, teams, members ... projects ... should be updated regularly, although we try not to make the use of TMetric being a main task in the company. 

Best practice shows that it is important for the users to be self-concious  enough to input each task started into TMetric. Using the default Windows shortcuts it's as easy as pressing Ctrl-Shift-T, and entering the task description. TMetric helps by giving the possibility to select from past tasks.

Settings. Using automated reminders, autostart option, activity recording, idle time detection ... is most useful and also most effective way, since we are most of the time concentrating on task and hand and do not even think about time tracking. Having TMetric lurking in the background and keeping track of things one does, is therefore extremely welcome and really helpful.
