# How could you get into programming something at OS level when ubuntu has tens of thousands of LOC?

I would like to contribute to the Ubuntu community and since I am currently a programmer I am very interested into learning how to code something at OS level but i would like to seek some sort of mentorship in this opensource community so i can add some new features to it.
