Mail Assure uses SSL/TLS traffic encryption to ensure emails are securely transmitted. In terms of email backup:

We offer an email archiving solution that allows you to back up and store all emails, with an unlimited retention period. If archiving is enabled, a copy of all messages is stored on the Mail Assure server. We also offer multiple storage locations around the world to help meet geographic storage requirements. Robust encryption in transit (using TLS encryption) and at rest (using AES encryption) help keep data secure. The solution includes 24/7 built-in email continuity with a 14-day email queue support in the case of email server outages or downtime. If the primary email service is offline for two weeks— Mail Assure will continue attempting to deliver email and store emails in the incoming delivery queue where they can be viewed.
