# I am currently working on revamping my site. I don't have much free time to do so. Does anyone have any recommendations and experience with any third party services that are outstanding and easy to use?

AppSumo is a service which often has free or cheap actions, including templates, tools, courses or business-oriented offerings.

And there are dozens of sites which offer templates (web-templates, clipart, icons, vector-illustrations, textures, fonts) for subscription or one-time fees.

I have tried Drupal Gardens, which is a very fast and efficient way to set up a Drupal site, although for a site I'm managing (not as a professional web designer), I used a standalone Drupal installation on a cheap local host. Drupal is a good engine, but you need to use quite some modules. Luckily, the majority is free and open source. There are quite a few themes too, but for some reason, I find Wordpress themes to be more slick and professional looking.

Another site we manage, is a standalone Wordpress installation on our own server, with Buddypress as main social portal engine. I took a few additional modules to get going.

Most free hosting has annoying ads and for the above sites, I specifically wanted no ads at all, so we host it ourselves or buy cheap ad-free hosting.

I've had some bad experience with "free" Drupal hosting, as it requires quite a heavy database and many free hosts post limitations on Database size, bandwidth or PHP memory and graphics usage, which posed problems for the (fairly basic) Drupal site I managed.

Squarespace and spacecraft are my two personal favorites. I'll write up reviews here. Spacecraft has more enterprise features.
