# Engagement is a huge buzzword out there...what does it really mean? Why does it matter?  How does Vibe impact employee engagement differently?

According to Gallup, employee engagement impacts productivity, customer relationships, sales and profits by 10-21%. So it is clearly important.  But it is very misunderstood.

The best place to start is what engagement is NOT:
- Happiness
- Job Satisfaction
- Working Conditions
- An Engaging UI
- Showing up to Work
- Using the Software (That&#39;s Adoption)
- Tools

Rather, true employee adoption goes beyond mere satisfaction with employment or basic loyalty to the employer.  Engagement connotes action / activation, whereas satisfaction connotes being content / satiated.

Vibe HCM facilitates engagement improvements by providing accessibility to influence key engagement drivers (career, rewards, recognition, responsibility, organization, work environment) to impact engagement behaviors (i.e. taking initiative, working smarter, adaptablity, etc.). Vibe HCM measures engagement levels on an ongoing basis to identify areas that need to be addressed to make improvements.
